Websites for Salt Lake City restaurants and cafés: the essentials
People deciding where to eat want three answers fast: are you open, what's on the menu, and how do I get there? If your website makes them dig, they'll pick the place down the street. Here's what matters most for restaurants, cafés, and food trucks around Salt Lake City.
1. Hours at the top, kept current
Put today's hours where no one can miss them. If your hours change with the seasons, holidays, or ski weekends, update the site at the same time as your Google Business Profile. Wrong hours are the fastest way to lose a customer for good.
2. A menu people can actually read
A blurry photo of a paper menu or a PDF download is frustrating on a phone. Put your menu on the page as real text, with prices. It's easier to read, and Google can see it, which helps you show up when someone searches for a dish near them.
3. Make ordering and reservations one tap
If you take reservations or use an online ordering or delivery service, link to it with a clear button near the top. Don't make people search for how to give you their money.
4. Location, parking, and getting there
Show your address, an embedded map, and a line about parking or transit. For food trucks, list where you'll be this week, or link to wherever you post your schedule.
5. Photos that make people hungry
A few good, bright photos of your food and your space do more than a dozen mediocre ones. Real photos of your dishes beat stock images every time.
6. Say what makes you different
A sentence or two about your story, your specialty, or dietary options (vegan, gluten-free, kid-friendly) helps the right customers choose you and gives Google more to match against searches.
The checklist
- Today's hours at the top, always current
- Menu as real text with prices
- One-tap ordering or reservation button
- Address, map, and parking notes
- A few great photos of real food
- A short line on what makes you different
